Revisiting and recreating a past project

Back when I did my BTEC, I created a scene in Unreal made up of my own and sourced assets. Back then I didn't think I'd become a 3D props specialist, due to the quality of my assets. Turns out I wasn't taught how to do things 'properly'. Since going to University I have now learned: how to differentiate between low, mid and high polys, I now know how to bake models and have been introduced to 3D Substance Painter, and can texture my assets better. In the original scene the assets (mine of course) are poor quality models that I wouldn't even call low polys, due to how small the polycount is, and were textured using a mixture of Autodesk Mudbox and Photoshop.

The original standing torch was not a decorated as this one.

The original model was the one I was most proud of, which itself was not the best.

The shrine has massively improved from its original version.

The lantern wasn't terrible originally, but it wasn't great.

In the original project I had an incense bowl, I swapped it for this gold cup because I forgot what it was supposed to be and thought it was just a boring bowl.

While still not the best this model is a huge upgrade from the original. In texturing I wanted to go for a hand-made, upcycled look.

This chest is one of the most improved models of this set; both in terms of overall construction and its new design.
